The print driver must include the form size definition in the PPD or the GDP.

The form is available for me on drivers that contain the Folio form definition but I always install a language pack so I can test German and FE character sets so I have no idea what a plan EN-US install would look like. I see that Folio is a built-in Form, the spooler initializes the form size on start up, this form is not in the registry. Unfortunately it applies only to one driver. Those get stored in \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Forms\. I'm importing the custom form from my machine. You do not want to go through the hassle of adding Forms through spoiler API, it's easiest to achieve with driver install but there are a couple other tricks too. I need the driver to expose Folio as an available size (all drivers, really). I don't need to change the default paper size, so the script is not applicable. If All Win 10, do you have this script in place?Īll windows 10.

Since you mention the Print to PDF printer included in Windows 10, can you confirm all client systems are Windows 10? The powershell solution posted earlier can only work with 8 and greater. There is no way to override what sizes the driver makes available per region, other than creating a custom form, that I've found. If I were to switch to European regional settings it would show up. This is not applicable because while most drivers include support for Folio, it's not exposed due to regional settings. You can add a driver which includes the specific Form size. This is ridiculous, Windows Printing is very 1980s.Īlanmorris, I'll answer each question in turn: I'd end with 4 or 5 different entries for the same paper size and it turns out that Office caches them when you switch printers, you end up with all of them in page size menu afterwards If I want to make the size available for Microsoft Print to PDF, NitroPDF or any other model printer I'd have to push a different registry value for each one. This is sorta OK, as we currently use the same model LaserJet as main printers in all branches. I have partially solved the problem by using a GPO to push a registry value, but it only makes the size available for one printer driver. I just need the Folio size to be available to all applications. We mostly use Letter, so the current default is fine. The second only addresses Office default page size. Not feasible for us for network and Windows Server licensing reasons. I'd already found the first one, and it basically boils down to "use a print server".
